The Family Service Association After School Day Care programs provide supervised activities, including transportation, to approximately 200 children in Fall River. Those enrolled in the programs participate in recreational and educational activities, special field trips, and other fun events designed to encourage enrichment and growth.
The staff to child ratio is 1 to 10, thereby providing close supervision of program activities. The staff also includes social workers and special needs teachers.
Sites include the Watson School, Wiley School, Wixon School and our newest location, The GenCenter at 397 Bay Street, that features inter-generational programming. An additional tutorial program is held at the Sunset Hill housing Development.
The Family Service Association After School Day Care program's published child care rate, as of April 1, 2006, is $18.75 per day. Our rate for transportation is $6 one way and $9 for two way. The program is supported by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, the USDA, PACE Child Care Works, and the Fall River School Department.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Fall River Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
