The Home Assistance Programs offer daily assistance with the physical and social needs of elders and disabled adults living in designated housing units. For persons at risk of institutionalization, the Home Assistance Programs (HAP) provide community living options that recognizes and preserves the independence of persons requiring supervision. Care is provided by Certified Nursing Assistance and other professionally trained caregivers.
This program is funded by the Massachusetts Division of Medical Assistance.
This program has several additional components: a Homecare component, providing services on a private pay basis; and the CNA component, with professional staff who train clients to interview and hire their own Certified Nurse Assistant.
HAP is also providing needs assessments for a number of area housing authorities, evaluating residents and their individual medical and social needs.
