Judy Walsh, a therapist with Family Service Association since 1997, was honored recently as a recipient of a Kaleidoscope Award sponsored by St. Vincent’s Home in Fall River. The award is given to those who have provided dedication and support to the facility and its mission.
Administered by the Diocese of Fall River, St. Vincent’s Home is the largest residential treatment and special education center in Southeastern Massachusetts for young people ranging in age from 5 to 22. Family Service Association has partnered with St. Vincent’s Home to provide professional clinical services since 1995.
In her formal nomination, Judy is described as one who “is tireless in her effort to develop trusting, nurturing relationships with each child in her care. She knows them as individuals and is a strenuous advocate for each child within the broader system of care.” The
nomination also refers to her “expertise, wisdom and insight benefiting not only the particular children and families she serves, but also supporting the combined St. Vincent’s and Family Service Association staff team.”
According to officials at St. Vincent’s Home, Kaleidoscope Awards are an outgrowth of the agency’s Mission Awards, which are given to recognize the compassionate ways in which employees and friends of St. Vincent’s Home have made a difference in the lives and families the agency services.
We congratulate Judy for her strong dedication and quiet, unassuming style. She is a tremendous asset to Family Service Association, St. Vincent’s Home and, most importantly, to the children and families with whom she works.
